Noticed the staff guidance page is the same.

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/thelibrary/manuals-subjectarea.htm

Maybe this will move in time but at least the wording of these manuals won't change overnight even if they dumb-down advice for everyone else.

best wishes,
Tim

Its the same for accessing Companies House now too - except now you have to go through another two pages!

Nice big writing for anyone with eye trouble although found that a bit alarming when the end of a crucial bit of information was on page two and I reckon most people wouldve thought their question was answered by the end of page one

Horrible and yet another waste of money!

Concurred totally.

they seem to be pages written by idiots with the assumption that those reading them are idiots.

Everything is now phrased how HMRC want you to see things rather than stating the information as hard facts.

Pages that have already moved over seem to have at least half of their previous content missing.

I can only assume that the idea of tax simplification has been translated as it not mattering how complex, time consuming and meaningless they make changes to the tax system so long as they tell everyone about it in a large font.

basically a complete bloody disgrace. (bah humbug).

Must say dont like the move onto gov.uk of both HMRC and Companies House.

After being used to knowing where to find things on HMRC it is now all changed on gov.uk.

Also as mentioned it now takes a few more clicks of the mouse to get the company search facility on Companies House.  What is the thinking behind that?

May be the old "if it aint broken dont change it motto" but dont know why the need to change both HMRC and Companies House onto a general gov.uk website.

Yes!!  I have spent the last two months writing the new tax books and I have found it infuraiting to say the least.

Definitely more style over substance!

Public sector motto has an add on "if it aint broken dont change it, but what the heck its not our money so lets do it''

I wonder if my bookmarks/favourite links will all be in the same place in 12 months time.
