Does anyone have any experience submitting Self Assessment with BTC software

I have recently purchased it mainly for CT Returns but they have given me the facility to also run self assessment- I have half a dozen new clients who wont get their government gateways activated in time for the deadline and wondered if I can submit with my agent code instead- the 64-8s have been sent but I wouldn't for a minute think they will have been processed yet

Other than that is it purchasing Andica or something to submit with my code?

Any help appreciated as very new to BTC and finding it hard to get my head round when stressed out with all the self assessments cry

I'd be surprised if BTC didn't permit filing without authorisation.

I'd also be very tempted to just try the least complex Return, Sharon or if possible try a client who has not received a 'Notice to File'.

Best of luck........ you can always amend later as you'd do if a final bit of info was lacking.

Regards,
Tim

I'm probably wide of the mark here but can you use your own gateway and log in details instead of the clients.

cross fingers.

Not sure if it of any use but I stumbled on to GOV.UK Verify Service, when I was trying to complete an SATR for a client who had not received their password to use Self assessment service. (The new website takes a bit of getting used to, and it was hidden deep in other self assessment links)

www.gov.uk/government/publications/introducing-govuk-verify/introducing-govuk-verify

https://www.signin.service.gov.uk/start

Not sure how it works, as there is limited information about it but appears that it will allow you to access certain online services without being signed up by using an ID verification company. It does require the client to do it, as it they will need to answer a few personal questions, and they also receive a confirmation text. Apparently the whole thing is done online, and takes ten minutes.

In the end I never needed to use it but it may be a last resort option
