Moneysoft Payroll software
Permalink Closed

Hi all,

I run a bookkeeping & payroll company, and currently use Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll.  A colleague mentioned to me that they use Moneysoft for Payroll as it is so much cheaper than Sage, and apparently does the same thing.  I am considering swapping, but wondered if anyone had any comments (good or bad!) about it?  The price difference between Sage and Moneysoft is staggering, so very tempting for a small company like mine!  I plan to download the free trial for both bookkeeping and payroll software to give it a go.

Thanks for any input!

Gill

Hi Gill,

Tims your man for MoneySoft bookkeeping software and he swears by it (I'm a VT bod myself, an excellent bit of bookkeeping software worth you trialing).

I can't remember seeing one bad word said against Moneysoft payroll on the site and there are a lot of members here that use it.

Currently I use 12pay which is a similar price and has similar features.

Unfortunately when choosing my payroll software I picked one of the worst months possible to trial anything as I was innundated almost as soon as I had downloaded it.

I trialed 12pay and liked it but the trial period for moneysoft ran out before I got around to giving it a run so I've not used it myself and don't know whether it's as good or better than 12pay.

Certainly no matter which of those you go with you with be financially better off than sticking with Sage payroll.

kind regards,

Shaun.

Thanks Shaun, I will give it a trial run, and have a look at the others you mentioned - Sage just seems to be emptying my bank account on a monthly basis!!  Just need to find the time to do it now....!

Thanks again

Gill

Hi Gill

I use Moneysoft for payroll - find its great for that and cheaper too, but for accounts I stick to Sage. I've tried Moneysoft accounts but prefer Sage and I've used Sage payroll but find it too complicated - Moneysoft is just so easy for payroll. I've used Iris too, this is cheaper than Sage but not as cheap as Moneysoft. I guess you just have to try a few and see which suits you best.

good luck with whatever you choose

Shada

Hi Gill.

Worth reading the Auto Enrolment thread on here whilst you're trialling other software.

I'm sure Sage will be happy to empty your bank account for that too :/

Best wishes,
TIm

I've used iRis payroll (expensive!)' then 12pay and Moneysoft. Marginally preferred 12 pay but I ended with Moneysoft as I had CIS clients. 12pay has been owned by IRIS for a little while now, I must admit I was expecting price hikes but non so far, as far as I know. I use Sage and quick books for the bookkeeping side, prefer sage but only because I know what I'm doing with it ( generally! )

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.
