Sage 50 Professional setting up automated email reminders for customers
Permalink Closed

Hi

Can anyone offer any advice on software that is compatible with Sage 50 Professional, where we could enter in customers details and automate e-mail and SMS to tell them that their service is due in a few weeks time etc. Also, if it is possible to set this up directly in Sage 50?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Melle

Hi Melle,

There may be ways to do this in Sage (I'll leave it to the Sage gurus on here to answer that) but, if there isn't, I think you could set something up to do what you want in Excel. The idea goes like this:

  • In the Memo field in the Sage Customer Record, start a dedicated line with something like "#Service date:" and then enter, say, 0630 for the 30th of June each year.
  • Run the Excel process periodically to identify and automatically email customers where the Memo field indicates that the next service is due soon.

I'm not sure about how you would do SMS as I've never done it before - perhaps someone else on here knows?

Food for thought.

Regards,

Edit: Initial Google results suggest that it should be relatively simple to do SMS too.

Hi Melle
I believe the SMS bit is do-able although I think you might need some add on software. Its not something Ive done myself but Im sure if Bruce and one or two of the others are hanging about they could advise.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.
