I am meeting a potential new client tomorrow and wondered if someone could help me . They work mostly in France but live here and will be setting up a limited company. As this is something i am not familiar with I wondered if there were any pitfalls as i am assuming at the moment that he will be invoicing his clients in euros? Has anyone got a client like this ?
Yes, I have lots of clients who live overseas, but have English Ltd companies, but they ALL have a registered address in England - that is your main pitfall, you need to consider.
There is nothing different for the company - a Ltd company is still a Ltd company and the rules for the company are based on the country where it is registered.
The director may be a different matter depending on domicile, residency and where they are carrying out their duties for the company.
