I need help in setting up an employee in 12pay. He is a CIS contractor so no P45 etc. It's for a friend who is an electrician and as I have not done payroll for donkeys years and manual at that before all this RTI malarky.
Hi Elaine
If you go to the FAqs/common Qs on the website there is a really good guide as to how to add an employee, plus others about how to file RTI, rollback if you make an error etc. (Sorry I can't send the link as I can't seem to open 12pays site on my ipad at the moment / used 12pay it in the past at a clients but don't have it myself so can't advise from memory). They do also have a really good help desk, although it's not open at weekend. I would certainly have a play around with the set up a good few days before the RTI due date so you don't run out of time. You can do a backup and restore process so that's a good one to learn fast.
You've mentioned CIS so just wondered if part of your query is round that and if so what specifically?

Yes, it's me, well spotted! I've gone Ltd and changed the name of the business at the same time. The majority of my work is in Doncaster and Leger is a name associated with that area. Also there is more than a good possibility of a move closer to that area towards the end of the year. I initially wanted to call it Yorkshire Bookkeeping but there is a dissolved company with the same name and a live one called Yorkshire Bookkeeping and Payroll so that got scotched

Lol John. What - you would leave the delights of being so close to the Dales? Although, yes rolling hills means less businesses and its a bit of a commute for you! Have to say though I dont know Doncaster. Good luck with it all though.

Thanks Jo. To be fair I don't do that much commuting, I usually nip down there once a month to collect paperwork and some is sent to me through the post. I quite enjoy going down cos it means I escape for a couple of days
And if we move it'll be Chesterfield area, so not too far from the Peak District

Can practically see the peak District from mine - well Kinder Scout anyway! Know the road to Chesterfield well as I often trek that way to drive down the M1 instead of the M6 carpark!
