That will be up to the Company but HMRC figure is 45p a mile (dome companies pay less than this) If they do pay less then the employee can claim the difference from HMRC @ 20% tax relief. (assuming standard rate taxpayer)
Which reminds me of one of my mates who worked for a company stocktaking, travelling all over the country. The company paid (say) 20p a mile and he reclaimed the difference as tax relief.
He calculated he would have £3000 to come back and I said no, it'll be about £600. He was adamant he was going to get the £3000 and promised his partner £1000. He was gutted when the cheque arrived and it was for around £600

but isn't it a case that an employee can either receive expenses OR receive mileage allowance. There is no is no facility to swap and change between methods unless one changes vehicle.
This employee has a company car and fuel paid so should they not be claiming for a reimbusresment of personal expenditure from the company and no mileage claim is available to them?
All the best,
Shaun.

I've misread it Shaun. I thought he was using his own car as a one off, somehow got personal money confused with personal car. Apologies to the OP.
