Looking for some advice.

To date have outsourced all our payroll but from 2015/16 tax year onwards we are bringing it inhouse.  We we will do the directors only payroll inhouse to start with (this is probably about 55 clients) and probably outsource clients with genuine employees other than directors (have about 5 of these) until we get up to speed with Moneysoft.

Have been looking at the moneysoft manual and the demo file and seems easy to use.

One question I have.  I currently have one employee so would be useful if we could both access Moneysoft from our own machine.  Can you put moneysoft onto a server and run it off there so we can access all the files on our own computers or do you need to run it just on one machine?

That sounds like what is happening in the office I go into to do their wages for some of their clients. You'll get a warning if you try to open the same employer if the other person already has it open on their computer.

Hi Mark

Not too sure on the networking side, but if that's not possible here's an alternative.

Each company is contained in it's own file, in a folder called Payroll under Documents.  You could install Moneysoft on both machines, set up all the Companies on one machine, then move the folder onto the server.  Go to Tools Setup and folders on each moneysoft and point it to the folder on the server.

Hi Mark, hope all going well Yes you can have the moneysoft data on the network to enable data sharing. That's how some of our clients run it. Just amend the autosave part from every 10 mins if you have a big payroll as this can 'freeze' the program for a while and be a bit frustrating waiting for it.. Cheers Jeremy

Cheers John and Jeremy

Will get my IT guy to set up so points moneysoft data to our network.  Dont have any large payrolls.  Have one that is weekly of about 10, and one other weekly of 1, other than that all monthlies with a few clients with a few employees but the vast majority, about 60, being either 1 or 2 monthly employees.

Jeremy, will be down again at Accountex in May so will see you there if you have a stand.
