Moneysoft for Autoenrolment - can it do it?
Permalink Closed

I know there is another post sort of covering this but thought it would be useful to start another one on this specific topic.  In the other posts there are various comments about Moneysoft not being able to do all of Autoenrolment and then other comments saying it can do some of it.  Is there anyone that can give a summary of which bits it doesn't do?  If I need to change payroll software I want to do it before I start the new financial year so it would be helpful to know which bits it can't do and any suggestions of software that does everything I need.  A few people have mentioned Brightpay.  Does that do everything?  Thanks.

Hi Princess,

As far as I understand it but I maybe wrong! Moneysoft will assess the workers each month. I am not sure if it uploads the CSV file to the Pension Regulator with the pension file of all the employee details and the amount due. It does not offer any communications with the employees. So for example it will assess the workers each month and if someone falls into one of categories which makes them either eligible or entitled it will let you know but doesn't automatically print/email the letter to the employee to notify them. You would have to go on the Pension Regulator website or the pension provider they have chosen for example Nest and find the letter that is suitable for the employee. I did ask on here a weeks ago if any one was using Moneysoft now to process AE but had no response.

Yes , Brightpay will do the lot.

Hope this helps

Georgie

Hi Princess

Moneysoft have decided that they provide payroll software and there contribution to AE is :-

http://www.moneysoft.co.uk/payroll-software/payroll-manager-pensions-auto-enrolment.htm

This means they don't handle employee communications and the whole ongoing AE thing (That perhaps HR would do and then just notify payroll of the necessary changes !!!!!). Also, alot of providers and accountants don't want to get caught up in any future compensation culture that will result from AE (like PPI).

As Georgie says Brightpay does it all but no direct support for CIS and 12pay does it all.

So I  guess it all comes down to :-

What AE support you wish to offer ?

Do you do any CIS ?

etc

Thanks to you all. I don't do any CIS at the moment and I'm sure I can find letters elsewhere, none of my clients are that big that it would take long to print a few letters off. It would be nice if it did it all but I'm not sure if it's enough to make me change. Is anyone else changing for that reason?

i there,

Only new to this forum. I used Moneysoft in the past but I moved to BrightPay recently. BP does the letters to employees but MoneySoft doesnt do that. With MS they can assess the workers but its a little fiddly as you have to export a report every month but BP does that automatically for you. BP does everything - postponement, opt outs, refunds, etc.

I think that seeing as 12Pay and Bright Pay offer an all round solution to auto enrolement then yes I will be changing. (Why Moneysoft is not doing this amazes me) Who wants to pay for a software solution that only does half a job?

I suspect that come mid next year Moneysoft will introduce a module that means you can do everything for AE through it.

They probably arent that bothered the now as their bread and butter clients are either small businesses or small accountants that service small businesses that doent need to stage till 2017.

But when these small businesses have to do AE and find out the Moneysoft doesnt do everything then they will start to move to other providers that do everything so therefore Moneysoft will need to adapt or it will go under.
