Own year end and tax return
Permalink Closed

Hi all

Really silly question and am guessing I know the answer but want to clarify. My own year end is up now, all on sage and all correct, am I able to submit my own tax return and certify my own accounts? Or should I ask an accountant to do so.

I know all is correct for my expenses and all postings just thinking am I allowed to? I am ICB qualified and a sole trader.

Thoughts and assistance welcome as usual.

Thank you

Anyone can do their own accounts, the only thing I would consider is if you feel 'qualified ' to do it -do you know how to complete a SATR ? Do you understand what allowances you can claim etc

I am aware of the working from allowance, proportion of my mobile phone bill, mileage claims etc, etc. So I guess I am confident to carry out myself. I have never completed a tax Return, but need to gain experience. All my accounts are on sage so know all on correct ledgers. I may ask an Accoutant to have a quick look to confirm though...

Hi
I think Sharon may have also been meaning any possible capital allowances.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position
