Notice to Complete a Tax Return.
Permalink Closed

Good afternoon.

Please accept my apologies for the posting which is little more than a moan.

I have had 7 clients telephone this morning all complaining that HMRC have sent them a Notice to file a 2014/2015 tax return, when I had advised them I had already filed it.

Of course if you look at the Notice itself it is dated 6th April 2015.

Not the end of the world but a few hours wasted reassuring clients that their Returns were already filed.

Maybe just a bit grumpy after a knee replacement.    disbelief

Hi Jay,

clients should know better as they get these every year. I have a particularly condescending voice reserved specifically for those telephone conversations.

Those are 14/15 returns so they're not actually due until Jan 2016.

all the best,

Shaun.

We all need a moan sometimes Jay.  Ive had two clients just email the letters to me - no comment just the letters.  I dont even do their personal tax stuff!

Hope the knee is on the mend - keep doing the physio!

Im fast coming to the conclusion that its housemaids knee no longer exists but Accountants knee (or hip) does - there have been a few replacements on here.  Hope its not catching! no

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position

I received my personal notice back in May, but I did have the Partnership one drop through the door today.

Just a quick question...

Do I need to register for online partnership assessment if I'm using software to submit it?
