HMRC RTI software - P60 for 2014/15 tax year
Permalink Closed

I have been using the RTI software provided by HMRC and obviously downloaded the new tax year software back in April...  Unfortunately, this seems to have totally overwritten the 2014/15 information and so I have been unable to go back to print off P60's or check on any information therein...  Anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you manage to get the P60's??

Hi Josephine
I use commerical software but as far as was aware the HMRC software doesnt produce wageslips so I assumed it didnt do P60s as well. Also I thought the deadline for supplying P60s to staff was end of May.

That aside - can you do a 'restore' of the software to prior to your adding the new software? (If so dont forget to take a back up of the existing one first). If not - I would try the HMRC helpdesk. I reckon you might have to do manual P60s - you can order forms from HMRC

Hi Joanne - the problem seems to be that the new software download seems to have overwritten the old stuff. I have heard the same story from another person. Yes the P60's were done back in April but as is so often the case the employee has mislaid theirs and I wanted to do a reprint. Unfortunately it isn't possible to backup the HMRC software as far as I know. Not to worry I will try the helpdesk on Monday

When you open the software the tax year should appear under the Employers name and previous years show to the right of the current year which should appear in bold type. If this option appears just click on 2014/15 and you should then have access to last years data including P60s.

Regards

Gordon

Thank goodness for that - I know HMRC have done some incredibly daft things with their software over the years but good to know thats not one of them. Hopefully will save Josephine an hour hanging on the phone on Monday.

If you ever want to move from them to a good but inexpensive software - try Moneysoft or 12 Pay. (No I dont work for them and dont get commission (mores the pity) but Ive been a user of both and they are incredibly easy to use with great helpdesks if you need them.
