Remote book-keeping/administration work wanted - UK
Permalink Closed

Hi everyone,

I currently work as a remote book-keeper/administrator and have been with one of my clients for over 4 years now. I am based in Jersey, Channel Islands and have recently wanted to increase my working hours and broaden my experience to mainland uk. My duties include, book-keeping using Xero Accounts or Quickbooks via remote access to the clients accounting system, bank reconciliations, invoicing, credit control, all type of accounts payable and receivable, general administration work such as letter writing, dealing with clients and suppliers, payroll.  I am IAB qualified and part CAT with over 20 year office experience in Jersey.

Due to me living in Jersey all work would have to be carried out on a self-employed basis and remotely and my current clients send me work via email or shared Dropbox files, work is then completed from my own very secure and private office. I can also Skype for face to face discussions.

I now have availability for more remote work and am happy to consider any contract type.

If you wish to discuss this further can you please message me your email and I will contact you direct.

Thank you

You leave my clients alone with your distance poaching, lol.

Welcome to the forum Keri. I'm sure that your appeal is prompted by the realisation that unless clients are local its difficult to attract them. (and in a market where there are a lot of bookkeepers out there it can be difficult even in the local market)

Also where the client is not local unless you are known to the potential client then they are unlikely to seek out your services.

It sounds as though you come to the table with a lot of great experience which many bookkeepers in the market do not. (I assume that the twenty years are all in an accounts office?).

Its no guarantee of finding work but answering peoples technical queries on here may in the long term result in some leads that become distance clients.

I would say that your best bet is to network locally but I assume that you are already doing that, finding the market crowded (as many do everywhere) and are hence trying to find clients through this portal.

I wish you the very best of luck. But note that there's a no poaching zone established around Staffordshire and the West Midlands... Got enough trouble with local practices... So many new bookkeepers, so few bullets.... lol

All the best Keri and hope that you enjoy posting here,

kindest regards,

Shaun.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position
