I think I must have some very mean clients you know. Firstly in the previous post I told you about the client who wanted to pay less money per hour for holiday pay and now this:

Just got the bank statements from client and I see that instead of paying his staff on the 31st of the month he's been drip feeding them £10 here £10 there or there's another amount of £420 . i think his staff probably wouldn't say anything about this or complain but if it was me if I was paid monthly or even weekly I would want the whole amount on pay day. So my question is, can he do this?  And aside from this its a right pain to reconcile the payroll!

he has a duty to pay on or before the actual date the salary is due - not sure it is morally right but if he is paying bits here and there I suppose as long as its before the due date he isnt doing anything wrong

Well yes I think he is subbing one member of staff before payday, but a new person started at the beginning of July and he didn't pay him his wages until August and it was £10 one day , a week later £420 then another £10 .... I can't see how this poor bloke makes ends meet like that. I've already told him he should be paying his staff on or before but he just said yes I know and shrugs... I have given up trying to reconcile his payroll in VT.
