TASbooks and stock control - help required please!
Permalink Closed

A client of mine is using TASbooks for stock control.  Now trying to do the year end accounts and there does not appear to be a value in for closing stock.  I am a seasoned user of TASbooks having used it for a very long time, but I have never used the stock control on it.

What my client is doing, is posting all purchase invoices to 1600 stock, then using stock adjustment to move them to the correct analysis account.  her P & L shows all the sales in various products and the costs for those sales.  Nowhere can I seem to find a value for the total stock purchased during the year, or a value at the year end.

1600 shows all purchases, but also has all the adjustments going through it too.

Is there anyone out there with experience with TASbooks and stock, who can help me to find a year end stock value, and also to advise if she is posting it correctly to start with?

I would have thought that all invoices should still go to purchases, and the analysis done separately, but not sure how this can be done.

When she purchased the business, they paid £15K for stock.  I have this in purchases, but seeing as she has then added all stock individually from a stock list, I am aware that it will be in twice.......  but stock purchased is only showing as a COS when it has been sold....

Am getting more confused the more I think about it all!

Would be very grateful if anyone can help with this is any way.

Hi there,

If it's a relatively recent copy of TASBooks then you could ask your client to run program 5.4.2 - Print Product List / Valuation.
This can be run retrospectively, saved as a CSV file and show you the info i think you're looking for...

hi. we tried all various reports and couldn't find one that gave us a stock valuation on it.

My concern is that I need to bring in the opening and closing stock, yet can't find the closing stock figure anywhere, and if I bring in the opening stock cheque purchase, then some of that could be in twice where she has sold the item and it has accounted it for it automatically. I can't ring TAS as they don't have support. I have support, but don't have the stock module.

I really need to find somebody who uses TAS for stock control, but don't know where to find somebody like that.

I know what I need to do, but can't work out how to do it, very frustrating.
