Ok, so I'm a lazy sod, but is there a way I can extract data from Moneysoft that will help me calculate holiday pay?
All staff work different hours each week so I'm using 12.07% of hours worked. Moneysoft does this for you automatically as a monetary figure but it appears on the payslip and the client doesn't want that, as she thinks it will encourage staff to take holidays at inconvenient times.
Apart from copying the figures into a spreadsheet manually, is there another way?

Oooo, John - good question. I am even lazier and will be tasking my son with that little job and also setting up the email defaults etc as he is so much better with techy stuff than I am - I dont even understand half the help files.
Can you get the information via one of the 'analysis' options tab? You can choose the all employees option and then you see the reports on screen, which are in pdf format, but there is an option to save as a csv when you click on the old computer disc/save button?
Hope that works!
Funny what bosses sometimes think isnt it - when will they ever learn to have a proper system in place for requesting holidays and oooo a laid down policy that everyone knows about! lol. I will bet most if not all of the staff will know without seeing it on their payslip.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

I did look at the pay detail analysis a while ago but with it being in pdf I rejected it, without realising it could save to csv. That's great, I can use the data to get the totals I need then just add the new hours each week. I'll work on it over the weekend when I have a bit more time.
I'm sure the staff know too, I think the employer is scared when she sees the total adding up, but regardless the holiday has to be taken anyway and as you say, with correct procedures in place, she would still be in control of when they are taken, not the staff. That said, she is a good employer.
