Not so much of the old.... Ok, fair cop!

Hi Frauke,

welcome home.

you are one of the members like Rob, Amanda, Shiela and Bill that we never see as going away but rather sometimes you are just a bit busy so disappear for a few months.

The site does feel a little different in that the mix of active contributor accountants and bookkeepers has gone to about evens and there have been some really quite interesting discussions happening.

So long as we can keep things freindly then thats a good mix as the discussions really help to widen and improve peoples knowledge bases.

I was chatting about this with Steve yesterday and commented that the site is now the inappropriately named bookkeepers forum. (I refer to it everywhere as the BKN portal). Its really becoming more like a more entry level accessible Aweb.

There is now no representation here of the ICB or either of their training companies and I think that transition has helped make this more of a technical rather than a sales platform which is really what the people here in general need (we still have plenty of unbiased advice for those just thinking about this career path).

Whilst you have been away Rob has returned and also Tom posts more again now so excellent news there for Payroll people using the site.

Michelle (Foxy) left the site. There seems to be less SEO companies trying to push their wares but in their place we seem to have found quite a few lost Australians who are finding the site... Tut, first they take the IFA... lol.

And I think thats about it for a quick catchup.

Hope that everythings good with you and that business is booming,

Shaun.

Thanks for the update Shaun. Yes business is doing pretty well. I now have a full time trainee Accountant working for me, having passed his FIA Level 3 with ACCA as a apprentice a few months ago. He does not know what he is going to do next and finds it all very confusing.

I never go onto AWEB anymore or many of the other forums - as the time I use to spend there is now taken up doing social networking for all the businesses I now run outside the Accounting/Bookkeeping world.

From your comments things seem to be more civilized and interesting!

Welcome back Frauke!

I'm still here only just!

I have been busy of late and not been on much at all, hoping that will change in the future.

Kind regards

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position
