Can I run the FPS twice in one day?

There is a new starter at one of the clients that they weren't going to pay for some reason or the other until next week, now they have decided that they will pay them this week, but I have already run this weeks payroll. So if I roll back and run payroll again with the new starters pay on and re-submit the FPS will this be ok?

Thank you in advance :)

Hi Steve

Yes it will and that is the correct way to do it.  The newer FPS will override the previous one.

John Hi, with payroll - how long do you get to make adjustments? Thanks

Hi Johnny

There's no set time limit has such, as soon as payroll needs correcting you should go back to the relevant period and adjust.

If the tax year has passed and a P35 submitted then a EYU (earlier year update) needs to be done rather than a FPS.

This is how moneysoft suggest you do corrections.  http://www.moneysoft.co.uk/support/payroll-software/guide-rti-correcting-errors.htm

In 12pay I think you would need to rollback to the relevant period and then resubmit each FPS.

Hi John

Yes 12pay is via Rollback - covered off in the FAQs section or their helpdesk can hand hold  - been a while since I used 12pay but it was really easy to do so.

Good thing about this is that at least you are able to hit the 'on or before' rule.

Were you using Moneysoft out of interest?

Hi Joanne

I think that's one advantage that Moneysoft has over 12pay.  Any changes you make to earlier payrolls is reflected to date, whereas with 12pay you have to redo the payrolls back up to date.

Hi John
I do seem to recall that you can rollback on an individual employee and then report it via 12 Pay, but its a while since I used it - a client I looked after a couple of years ago had it. As you know Im a Moneysoft fan, from my days starting with CIS clients. I think the funniest request I had was for green and white payslips as my client thought the black and white ones didnt seen 'real' - of course you can have almost any colour in Moneysoft and the green and white is one on the 'standard' list so a few people mustve had this odd request for Moneysoft to do it. I have no idea if 12 Pay and others can do that!

Hi Joanne

I started using Moneysoft two and a half years ago as one of my clients wanted me to do CIS.  From memory, the payslips were black and white.  I've stuck with the green in Moneysoft, I tried a couple of other colours but always thought green looked better.
