Hi

On the 64-8 authorising your agent form it asks for a client reference in the agents details section right at the end after the agents code

What is normally entered in this box - the agent government gateway indentifier ??  On the FBI2 forms it is much clearer what they are asking for!!!!

Thanks in advance

I would get the from signed, but not send it to HMRC, just keep it for your records, doing the application bit online. It's usually much quicker, unless of course your client loses the authentication code!

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position
