Creating rules in Xero
Permalink Closed

Hello

I hope everyone has had a lovely summer, now it appears to be over I am catching up on work.

My client has similar expenses each month for which they want to create rules.

Does anyone know a quick way to automate the bookings in Xero - sometimes it guesses based on the description but sometimes it does not?

I just visited my client and we tried to complete the Create Rule box but it seemed very complex.

Any tips?

Thanks

Hannah

Hi Hannah I would say what summer, although it appears we are getting the lovely weather now wink

I dont use xero, but have you tried one of the Yube Tube vids?  Might be worth a look.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

It may be that if it isnt picking up all the time that rather than what you are searching being brought in in the description box it is in either the reference or payee box.

To cover all bases would set up the rule with whatever you want to it search for but set up the rule for "any" of either the description, reference or payee box.
