Hi all,
Just joined and looking forward to speaking with you all. I am currently studying aat lvl 2 around halfway through and currently doing bookkeeping transactions module.
I work for a small limited company and do all aspects of their office work, use vt+ as my accounts programme and have learnt it on the job for about 18months now, still learning.
The goal is probably to be a chartered accountant obviously a long way away and may change my mind several times in the coming years but we shall see.
Thanks all.
Hi Lee Actually - good idea to leave it as it has your intro on it!
Oooh - chartered! Great to have such goals and one which will go down well with our Mr Moderator man as he has encouraged a few down that route already on here!

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.
You should check out answers with reference to the legal position
Thats where I want to end up, I work nearly full time as does my partner as well as two young children means im doing evening college. Always been indecisive in what I wanted to do and at the age of 33 may have now figured it out. Any guidance along the way is going to be invaluable. Once qualified would like to start with some freelance bookkeeping. Thanks again for the invite. And if I can be of use to anyone I will keep my eyes peeled but feel there may be many more suitable people compared to my knowledge base.
I reckon sussing what you want by 33 isnt bad at all. Dont think I ever knew!
If you do go down the freelance route once you have your AAT exams all passed, but are then doing the student ACCA thing - just be aware that you cannot go beyond Trial Balance under the very strict ACCA Regulation 8, until you have fully qualified and done their supervised stint. Not one to worry about just yet, but keep at the back of your mind and check out nearer the time.
Any other Qs - ask away.
