I've just completed my level 4 AAT and I'm in the process of applying for MAAT and setting up as self employed. My previous experience has been in finance for charities.
I've got my first bookkeeping client who is a cleaner. She needs help with invoicing her clients as well as the books. (she is a small business but has many clients all owing small amounts).
I am trying to decide what is the best software to use for both of these functions and I'm wondering about VT transaction+. (I had started to use excel but with so many clients it is already getting confusing).
Do you think that VT transaction+ will be a good fit for this type of client?
Well done on your qualification and hopefully by now you will have filled your form in for you MIP status.
Is your client just dealing with private house cleaning? If so rather than invoicing in the way we are used to, itmight just be better if she has a duplicated invoice book that you can buy from most stationers. She can invoice on the spot and when they pay her on the spot she can mark it on her copy. The others obviously will form her debtors. Or failing that - just set up a simple template in word. VT trans + will suit as Vince says - its suits most (unless they need a stock function).
Be careful you do not start to do the actual work for this client until you have the licence on board.
