I thought I would let you know about a letter I received this morning from the above.
It looks very official - similar in nature to Companies House and references a filing deadline date.
However, although it says the initial information is free, when you read the small print there is a charge of £863. This is obviously a scam, on the back of Companies House.
Thought I'd just let you know there is another one doing the rounds.
Hi Debbie
Seen a few the same this week for clients. Another giveaway is the return address on the bottom of the letter and the envelope which refers to a postal address in France (or Spain, or Italy, depending on where this bunch decide to move to!). Scary thing is that some folk really must fall for it otherwise they wouldnt still be sending them out.
Thanks for the heads up.

Yep, quite a few of mine have received them and every one of them thought that it was an official request. Calling the form CR-01, and the way that it's all written does look really official. I thought of reporting it but it seems that the likes of action fraud are geared towards cyber crime rather than the good old fashioned type.
Total scam as you both say.
Thanks for the heads up.

I noticed the address, but as you say, obviously people dont always realise.
Yes I thought the form number was a good one too, just like the official ones.
Ive just warned clients to forward anything to me before acting on it. At Ā£853 a time, they don't need many people not realising to make it worth their while. š
Just shows how many people do not read the small print though doesnt it!!!!!
At least it sounds like they have all turned to their trusted advisors for, well advice!!!! We are maybe training them better than we thought after all. OK, that was probably a daft thought - at least one of them will have bought a garden shed for an office before the year is out without talking to us first!!!

Best one was one who loved being chastised by me so much the first time that they went out and bought another one!!!
Hear that? Thats the sound of my forehead repeatedly hitting my desk
