EC sales list
Permalink Closed

Hi All,

I need to file EC Sales list for the quarter ending 31.01.2017. It appears that the client did not authorize us for online filing.

I try to download the VAT101 form so we can send it by post but there is a some error on the site.

Does anyone know how to obtain a form for paper filing or where to download from?

Thank you!

Hi
Are you sure its not just because you are late doing the filing? Shouldve been completed 21 Feb (online, or 14th paper!)

Couple of options - hmrc will have sent a paper version out to client (unless they asked them not to) so get them to dig it out of the files and fill it in. Or just get them to submit it online.

Failing that its a call for a new form (and a possible fine, unless you have a really good reason for it being so late!)

Forgot to add - to be an ECSL agent you need to be VAt registered yourself. Bizarre I know!!!!!

Thank you Joanne!

I think the form should be accessible for those filing for the next quarter anyway.

I tried this link www.gov.uk/government/publications/vat-ec-sales-list-vat101

Installed again Adobe Reader but the same message appears.

If there is an option for paper filing there should be a way to get the form easy without calling.

Oh in our dreams!!  But HMRC never like to make things easy.

BTW - I tried the download too and got that Adobe message (and my adobe is working fine!!) otherwise I wouldve posted a blank copy.

But Ive just tried it again - when you get the message, download the message (using the little arrow top right) and up pops a form in all its pdf glory!

I tried 3 different browsers, all with the same message.  Firefox was helpful enough to tell me that the pdf contained forms, and my version didn't allow form filling, which is carp because I've filled pdf forms out online before.  Suspect this is an HMRC obscure rendering rather than adobe reader.

Have you managed it Nina or shall I try to add one to here that you can at least print off?

Hi Joanne!

Thank you for trying too!
I did exactly what you said and it is working!!! :)
It is very strange as it works only when message is downloaded and the open with Adobe from the saved location not straightway.

I have a blank form now!

Thank you!

Nina

Hi Nina - I get this error message all the time, it's very annoying!
If you have this problem again then another solution is that on the website with the ECSL form link you can right click the link, then "Save Link As".
This will download it as a physical form you can save on your computer rather than it trying to open in the browser which seems to be where the problem is.
