I bought trial version of sage and I try to practice . I also have sage 50 accounts for dummies which I find good book. Dummies book says that if you want to record opening balances manually you have to enter the prior year's end date. In my version of Sage it is impossible to select the day when financial year starts. You can only select month. I selected April 2016 as the month when financial year begins . When I want to enter March 2016 as opening balance date I receive message : Date you want to select is outside financial year ! Well, this is supposed to be outside present financial year . Do you know guys what to do so that I can enter proper opening balance date ?
Have you sorted how to do it then. Set your proper end then enter using last day or prior years end and select yes to the warning message. Do a b-fwd TB and it will be right.
