Filing full accounts instead of abbreviated

Hi all,

What happens if you file full accounts instead of abbreviated? Can we ask CH to supersede the accounts and file abbreviated?

Oops!

Give them a call - usually a helpful bunch on the phone. They may need to send paper based for them to load them.

Would this then make the submission late/incur penalties - worth checking.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

Hi Nina

You can amend it but it has to be sent in on paper.  However it won't replace the original filing, it will simply supercede it, and anyone with access to companies house filings will see  both.

Hi Joanne

No penalties or late filing.  The accounts were filed on time, just that they were the full accounts rather than the abbreviated ones.

Hi John
You used to be able to ask them to use the new instead of the old, hence the mention of fines because in the daftness that is public service, they then viewed the original submission as never having happened and the second submission as late, if indeed they were received after the timescale when the original ones were due. Saved people submitting rubbish and then taking more time to submit the right info I guess, although nowadays it seems like they don't care what rubbish is submatted having seen some of the daftness that goes on. Not looked at the link, but will later if I get chance. Thanks for that John.
