Be gentle with me ;)
Permalink Closed

Good morning all,

I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Sarah,  my background is in banking both retail and investment. Left after 18 years to start a family. Ive managed to keep myself busy in recent years doing voluntary work ,  working in a school and some casual Bookkeeping. I'm currently studying AAT Level 2 and IAB Payroll Level 2. The end is in sight at which point I'm hoping to carry on with AAT Level 3 whilst looking for paid work. Ideally looking for a role in an accountancy firm which insources Bookkeeping and payroll ; I'm looking for variety and a chance to broaden my skills rather than working in an accounts dept for one business.

Im sure I'll be looking for advice at some point in the future , in the meantime it's been fascinating to just lurk ;) Thank you.

Sarah

Hi Cheshire, I've worked at the TSB, a Japanese bank, NatWest, RBS and also part of NatWest/RBS in the US.

And then there were three :)

Hi Sarah,

welcome to the home for ex bankers (Joanne, myself, there have also been a few others). In my case it's also Barclays. All back office in my case (Corporate and retail). Joanne was more front of office Corporate.

Have fun with all the credits and debits being totally the wrong way around, lol.

Shaun.

As Shaun says mine was Corporate - was with NatWest. I dont include the RBS nightmare on my CV, despite still being with them when they took over NWB in 2000. I did try to pull Sir Fred on the nonsense he was spouting but I was a lone voice!!!!
