VT Cash bank statement incorrect in reconciliation
Permalink Closed

I am trying to reconcile, and although this has been working well, it has started to pick up the total statement value and not that on the bank statement. (should be 1858.33 and comes up as 23,xxx.xx How can I change this?

Hi Sandra
So hows about an intro before we start. We always ask newbies!

Usual stuff - what prof body do you belong to, do you work for yourself or in a practice/ firm, are you a bookkeeper or accountant, what qualifications, how long in role, where up to in your studies-what exams passed/with what body/in midst of doing, where based, what you did before this role? That sort of thing. Helps get to know you but also how best to pitch answers.

Also can you bob your first name so that it appears under the signature bar, via edit profile/signature so that people do not need to look up your name when they answer you.

Is it just VT cash book you have or VT Trans+? Are you able to restore to when it was working ok?

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position

Hi Joanne

This is perhaps one of the few drawbacks of VT+, it saves as it goes along.  It doesn't let you do a backup in the way that sage does, but you can make a copy in windows explorer, then paste it into a different directory and rename it.

Ah yes but best practice - back up before you start keying the next 'batch' of whatever you are doing by doing just what you suggest. There is always a way, unless its when using most of the cloudy stuff in which case you are well 'stuffed'!
