Transaction Report in VT Cash Book
Permalink Closed

Maybe I'm being thick (probably!), but having entered a load of Bank payments in VT Cash Book,

I can't find a report which will analyse them into the various Nominal codes.

Is there such a thing ?

Eunice

Oooh I could kiss you Joanne, I really could!!  (despite being called a nutter, being 500 years old and as ugly as sin!!)

Been using VT since 2011 and didn't know this feature existed.  I use display all accounts then go down the ledgers individually, but you can break it down by date the way you describe.  Also saves me scrolling all the way down the list just to reach the bottom sections (one particular client had a few thousand customers) which is a right pain in the harris to scroll down to (say) creditors)

Eunice, if you follow Joannes method, and select the bank account , you can click on the individual bank transactions and see which nominal they've gone to. Assuming your pay or recs are in numerical order you can swiftly drop down to the next on the list on the left hand side.

Thanks for the help, the one which I used in the end was the Multiple Ledgers Report.

I know a lot of people on here rave about VT, but I'm not overly keen. Maybe the VT Transaction+ version is
better, but I don't see the need to go to the expense when a spreadsheet works just as well.

Thanks again,

Eunice

Hi Eunice, have you tried the Transaction +?  If you haven't there's a 60 day trial version at www.vtsoftware.co.uk

You could then compare it with your cashbook and see if there's an overall improvement.  I've never really used the cashbook but it just seems a stripped down version of the main program, so still might not be to your taste.

Whatever would Mrs R say!  Especially with you saying about driving past my house in the wee small hours winkbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Eunice - I dont use the VT cash book on its own, use the Trans+ version and Accounts production, but the good thing about it is the ability to get any data out into excel so that you can then do what you like with it, which I think its why so many folk like using it (plus its as cheap as chips to buy!), although Im a Sage girl first & foremost.
