Campsite - Trade?
Permalink Closed

Iāve just taken on a client with a business consisting of Furnished holiday lets and a campsite. The letās qualify to be treated as a trade for tax but Iām just curious about the campsite. My instinct is that the income could be grouped as one trade but just wanted to check. Thanks in advance

Hi Valerie

Not had any dealings with campsites myself but hopefully this might help

https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/property-income-manual/pim4300

Also seem to remember a post on Aweb recently that had something about campsites on it maybe worth having a read

Hi Valerie
Agree that manual is the place to start as there are so many unaswered questions for us (campsite part of a farm, seperate, caravans and tents, shop on the site, same land as some of the property lettings........I could go on)

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position
