Business Tax Dashboard

Morning folks

Does anyone know how this works?  I normally submit my own stuff through taxfiler but I was curious as to whats been set up. Entered my gateway thingy to be met with it saying my services were SA and Business Tax Dashboard, however when I click on either of the links I am taken to hmrc.gov.uk main website.  Years ago when I last used the gateway it would take me to my SA details, where I could submit a return if I wanted to.

Hi John

Like you I use Taxfiler for my returns and before that I just submitted using my agent account, I just logged into my Personal Tax account but could not access my SA as it says I need to log back in using the code I first used to set it up which seeing as I have been self-employed for over 30 years I wouldn't have a clue what it is.

Sorry I cant be of any more help

Hi John, I just use the HMRC homepage the same as I use for my agent log in but use my personal details instead, which I set up a few years ago when I knew I had some gap years in my N/I and wanted to know how many I was short

https://www.gov.uk/log-in-register-hmrc-online-services

this then enables me to view my PAYE, N/I and any benefits and pensions, however I cant access my SA as it tells me to log back in using the code I originally had for SA which I do not have, if I do need to access this I am registered as a client for my business I so can access all my SA stuff through my agent account because this is how I filed my Tax Returns before using Taxfiler.

Morning fellas
I go in via www.tax.service.gov.uk/gg/sign-in which I think is probably just the page after Doug's link.

My SA doesnt show on my business tax account dashboard - just by business taxes. I have another government gateway number for my self assessment and that shows on my personal dashboard.

Ive historically used the SA, although last year I just slung it in taxfiler as its so much quicker.

Ive also tried lodging my Limited Co accounts via the 'file your CT online' via the business dashboard qas a wee bit of an experiment (documented on here before) - gawd what a mare, plus it contains errors and despite 3 weeks of backwards and forwards with HMRC's supposed technical team I got nowhere and just slung that in taxfiler as well.

What is it you are specifically after John? Or were you just curious as to what clients can see?

Hi Joanne

I've just tried logging in using both Doug's and your link and it gave me the info I wanted to see.  The link I used was http://www.gateway.gov.uk/ which only told me what services I have.

It says its a business tax account, which shows my SA details and I can file it from there, but it says I also have a personal tax account so I will need to set that up cos I want to check on my pension situation, as I'm pretty certain I have some years short.

It was mere curiosity, I'd not logged in for years and I knew things had changed

Hi John
Never seen that link before, so just had a go. It takes you through to the list as you say, but if you click on something from that list you end up back to where Doug and I went.

Also, if you try this for your personal tax account....
https://www.gov.uk/personal-tax-account

Once you press 'start' it takes you through to a page showing 3 options:-

Prove your identity to continue
Youll need an account to prove your identity and sign in to your personal tax account.

Sign in with Government Gateway
Youll have a user ID if youve signed up to do things like file your Self Assessment tax return online.

Sign in with GOV.UK Verify
Youll have an account if youve already proved your identity with either Barclays, CitizenSafe, Digidentity, Experian, Post Office, Royal Mail or SecureIdentity.
or

Create an account
If you do not already have one of these accounts, we'll help you choose whether to use Government Gateway or GOV.UK Verify.

I presume if you use the first option you will get to your PTA pretty easily.  Hopefully anyway!!!!

HTH
