Why do clients think their time is so much more important than ours when Im trying to sort out their VAT return for 7th and Im chasing queries from months ago, that have either been chased before ( months ago and every other week) and/or have just cropped up as the result of getting some random stuff from bloody December?

Am ABSOLUTELY FUMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as Im concernced Im thinking of doing the unprofessional 'go French Connection UK yourself'

Just thought I would have some 'time out' before I do some serious damage.

And why do you think that I'm back working in Corporate!

It also seems that the smaller they are the more they want to attempt to get you to burn through burning hoops to feed their ego's.

I assume that they are in breach of the contract terms and conditions that they signed when taking on your services?

If the client isn't up to the standard of professionalism that you expect, and you don't need them, then just fire them and have done with it.

... I'm not helping am I...

laters,

Shaun.

I assume that they are in breach of the contract terms and conditions that they signed when taking on your services?  Ha, yes, many times. But I read the riot act and hve increased my fees and now getting about 8x what I was and I have to say they pay within minutes of getting my invoice so fab in that way.  Mostly mucho mucho better than before but just when its disorganised its bloody disorganised. The comment this morning Ive never had before and shall be telling them face to face in no uncertain terms how that made be feel, so I will be paying a visit. Not doing it over the phone as I want them to know EXACTLY how it is!

If the client isn't up to the standard of professionalism that you expect, and you don't need them, then just fire them and have done with it.    Was just looking at expanding into premises and found two possibles yesterday, but now Im doubting this bloody business again!!

... I'm not helping am I... You have, although wandering off helped too. Nice to know Im not the only one

laters,  yep

Shaun.

Awwwww  big hugs Joanne.

Illegitimi non carborundum

I guess I've been very fortunate as the majority of my clients are on the ball, and I get stuff when I need it.

I did have a problem with a mate's ex-wife who engaged me (erm..that doesn't quite right) and then I never got a scrap of paperwork..ever. She was ripped off by her previous "accountants" and by my reckoning they owed her 5k.  Did a long letter challenging the "fees" and I don't think she even bothered pursuing it. In the end I dumped her.

Was just looking at expanding into premises and found two possibles yesterday, but now Im doubting this bloody business again!!

Don't let one client put you off.  Weigh it off against all your other clients and do a stock check on the overall client likeability.  If it swings the right way stick with your plans and either dump the dickhead client or bring them into line.  Sound's like you've done a good job so far and it's a lapse on their part.

Awwwww thank you John.

Loving the Latin, although for some reason I cannot recall that from learning the subject at school!!  winkbiggrin

lol on the dodgy engagement.  Bet you are so glad you didnt go there in the end. Bet Mrs R is as well no.

OK, you are right, so viewings will be booked - Im liking the idea of being able to walk away from the work piles more and more, or at least not have them stare at me every time I wander past the office Im using now!   Although Im still not looking forward to trying to find the right staff part of it all.

Im torn between a main road, amongst shops, but the lesser used ones on the outskirts of the village, no parking (and double yellows/crossing outside) or in a converted building with a range of office sizes (new to the lettings game) on the edge of a (very very small) industrial estate (with parking).

They just have no respect Julie!   Saying that Ive just had a totally unprompted apology.

Im trying to get all mine down to the month following in readiness for MTD. All the others (surprisingly) are done, just this one is still running.

Good luck with whichever you plump for.

Just a couple of thoughts, although I'm sure you'll have already considered them.

Parking is a serious consideration, can clients park within a reasonable walking distance to the shop?  Is mail security likely to be problem at the units?

Any thoughts gratefully received. Think I will have a brainstorming sesh - although its no as effective if you do it on your ownconfusewink

Im going to double check the parking situation with the first place as I did really want some for client visits at least.  I think their is restricted time parking, which is maybe an hour, which is plenty for visiting but not for me!

Its secure post for both from the blurb Ive seen.  One property has security guards, the other just a shutter for the door (but not windows!)
