A little early as I'm going down to Watford today until Wednesday, but wishing all you lovely forumites a peaceful and prosperous New Year.
Big changes for me in 2019, I'm ditching a part time job I had and going to really concentrate on building my business up from February. new website planned (had planned to do it 2 years ago) and a facebook page. I want to gain a few more CIS and build the payroll side up as that is what I love doing the most, and at long last I'm going to restart my AAT, although from Level 3 instead of level 2 as I originally planned. Will give myself a year to a year and a half to get my qualification then decide whether to do ATT.
Anyone else got any aspirations for 2019?

Glad to see that you have come up with a clear plan for the future, judging by the knowledge you show on here you will breeze through AAT so good luck with that and with the expansion of your business.
For myself, not sure if aspirations is the right word but certainly some decisions to be made, been thinking about this for a while now and need to decide during the quiet period between Jan & April.
I too still work part time (not in accounts) but love it so not a chance I will be packing that in so my decision is between
1. Packing the accounts work in altogether
2. Carry on as I am, if any new clients come along then fine or if they don't then I am not really bothered
3. Or grow the business by trying to gain more clients
Not sure which but will see how Jan goes and then decide

It's great how the New Year gets that new broom sweeping through life!
As Joanne says, go for it John. I'm a No.2 Doug as I find that, ironically (as long as you are doing the right things of course), when you're not 'foot to the metal' looking for clients, they appear - get referred to you etc, and you can pick the ones that suit how you want to work. This works well for me :) and leaves me time to have fun :)).
Caribbean - YES PLEASE! Have been lucky enough to go to Barbados & Antigua - prefer Antigua for the beach we stayed on....would love to be there now!
Been back in coorporate for over a year now and its time for a change of scenary but I find that I I have no desire to go completely back to practice. I kept a couple of clients to keep my hand in but overall I'm not thinking of a wholesale return to the practice side of the fence anytime soon.
2018 was a good year for achieving life goals and will be a difficult one to beat.
2019 I suppose is grab some popcorn, sit back and watch Brexit with the same sort of morbid curiosity as watching a train wreck in slow motion.

I too am looking for some change in 2019.
Im no longer freelancing to an accountancy practice which topped up my own clients. I looked at possible employment and it made me realise how lucrative my clients are so Im now looking to increase (hopefully double) my client base.
Im going to start by increasing my skill set in Feb/ March and looking at potential Payroll and Tax courses/exams. I then need to get better at marketing myself.
