I hope someone can help. I've only recently begun dealing with Ltd companies so as yet I am not fully confident with the filing procedures. I have a Charity who are incorporated (limited by guarantee) but below 25k income.
My understanding is that I need to file full accounts not micro with Companies house and also Corporation tax return and Report with Charity Commission.
I have a presenter ID and I have filed micro accounts before but just tried to file this through Companies house but it doesn't appear to allow me, am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance
Valerie

Just to update
I'm using VT filer and it seems it wasn't up to date. I have now managed to submit to Companies House.
Would that mean it is automatically sent to HMRC for Corporation tax or do I need to do that separately?
I've only ever used yet the combined process
Thanks in advance
Valerie

VT only files to Co House. You need an agent account for CT and third party software to file to HMRC - the accounts they need are more detailed (full version to HMRC, filleted ONLY to Co House). Try taxfiler if you dont have any - using their 'small' offering you can do up to 10 for about a tenner plus VAT if I recall correctly.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.
You should check out answers with reference to the legal position
Thanks Joanne
I have an agent account but I'll need to apply for authorisation for them as it appears I haven't already done so. That will mean the return will be late so I'll just have to hope they don't get any automatic late filing penalties.
Thanks for your help

Works same way as self assessment and payroll. Authorise online but don't forget to also submit your 64-8 or they won't talk to you.
If you were on time with co house submission, assuming within 9mths of ARD, then CT return is not late as you get longer to file, although payment is sooner, so get them to pay.
CT should work the same as SA in which case you do not need authorisation in place to file a return on Taxfiler as long as you are registered as an agent (I would imagine most software is the same) however if you are still within the time I would wait and get online authorisation because as Joanne says at least then if there are any problems you will be able to speak to HMRC on behalf of your client

I did indeed discover (at silly o'clock at night) that I had another month with HMRC. Yay!
I've applied for authorisation now, so I can procrastinate for a few more weeks!
Thanks
