New paye scheme after Employer started new Ltd Co. Existing employee start dates in Moneysoft

Just a quick question, new paye scheme set up, imported existing employees from old payroll to new payroll. Can I keep the start dates as they are (helps with tupe) or should I change the start dates to 1st December, which is when the new company took over paye?

Oh good one! Not sure.

Is this a business merger or succession? See enclosed as that might give you a steer. If its new references I would imagine its 1 December, if its old, then original start date. But worth a quick call to both HMRC and Moneysoft if no-one else answers I would say.

Thanks Joanne

That link was most helpful. although it didn't answer the actual question, as I think I would have forgotten to reset the year to date pay.

However, with that in mind, I think it prudent to make the start dates 1st December, as you suggested.

It's someone who has taken on a new investor/shareholder, who wanted to set up a new Ltd Co, I phoned Employer Helpline this afternoon, and they have given me new paye codes.
