Moving PM Software
Permalink Closed

Hi all,

I have been using Glide as my practice management software for many years now.  Due to some ongoing frustrations with it, and the shiny shiny promises of oh so much automation of things that I currently have to do manually from Accountancy Manager it is very likely that I am going to moving over to them in the new year. I am not looking for any recommendations for PM software as I am happy I have already considered all of the options.

My question is this, for those of you who have moved PM software in the past, did it bother you that you left behind all of that history of work done? Did you find a way maybe to take the history with you? Am I worrying about something that's actually completely irrelevant?

Thanks

(edited for typo)

I moved to taxcalc but still felt compelled to keep Accountancy Manager running. AM is still very good for its task management and reminder functions

Hi John,

I still check it every day and we've had the usual few guys in Indian call centres that have tested to see whether the site is gaurded... I don't even keep a list of their userid's anymore, lol.

Now between contracts so busy catching up on my CPD which is all on the management accounting side of the fence this year.

How about yourself? Hope lifes being good to you matey.

Shaun.

Hi Phil,

TaxCalc is for the accounts production side of things but I take it they have an add on PM? We use Taxfiler and they've also launched a PM module. Seems everyone wants to provide it these days!  I have to admit I hadn't really considered using our existing Taxfiler provision for PM purposes...

I guess that as you have retained AM you haven't had to consider losing that client history.
