hello, I apologise if this is not the place to ask this question, but maybe you will be able to help me out....
I'm looking for an information /reliable source for the situation below:
My friend (self-employed) sells children books, clothing, board games, jigsaw that she buys in the EU. Her order is no more than £300 and she orders couple of times per month the most. She has started this business few months ago. Gov.uk website has an annotation that the info is out of date, but she can't find any updated info (?). Do you know what is the threshold here to be liable for the duty tax? When does she need to register for the EORI number (is there a threshold?). What is the VAT treatment now? thank you for your time

Care, as AAT, you must follow ethics. Ie not advising friends. Also not advising where you do not have the professional knowledge.https://www.aat.org.uk/prod/s3fs-public/assets/AAT-Code-Professional-Ethics.pdf
Not enough info given to be specifc, lots of missing info in your short description.
Best place - get a VAT expert on board. Probably cost is an issue, but very least your friend should get her own accountant who will be well versed on such things.
Next place place https://www.gov.uk/topic/business-tax/import-export so she can narrow down her specifics
