Which body to use!

Hi there. 
I am new to this forum so hope I am posting in the right place. 
I am a qualified accountant but had some interest from local people in my area to do their bookkeeping. I wouldnt want to do anything more without a practicing certificate from my accounting body so not going down that road. 

my question is, what bookkeeping body do people use? I thought there was only one (IAB) and I will be able to avoid doing any exams with them due to my accounting exemptions having done those recently. They also cover the licence which means I can avoid having to pay HMRC for MLO (I think i heard that)

 

does anyone have any experience with other bodies? Sorry if I sound naive. I know bookkeeping but not the bodies as that isnt something I looked into properly until recently and would be nice to get some advice.

Hi Alia, welcome to the forum.

The other bookkeeping bodies I know of are ICB and AATQB

Hi Alia,

You are correct in that the IAB can also act as your supervisor for AML if you have your practising cert with them.
