From reading the forum they like new ones who, after spending 20 minutes on the site, have clearly been taking lessons from spammers from the subcontinent:-
1) says hi on the back of someone elses intro post, but chooses one from May and none of the more recent ones
2) puts an response on a post from 2017
3) drops an advert for his business on another post.
Plus a recruitment company. Reminds me of 1970s sales reps.

Have you any idea how many posts I edit links out of, people I ban, threads I remove each week? Probably not as generally they are gone from the site pretty quickly. Generally not immediately as I'm not watching the site 24/7 but it is watched. I don't have the time to both look after it and contribute now but I give everyone else a safe platform where they can.
The one that you are referring to above is Osbourne books. I don't see an issue with them being here and I'm not going to give them a hard time. Ok, the poster did try to do it in a sneaky fashion possibly expecting the worst but in the past on here where I have corrected Osbourne books they have done something about it and responded immediately to me so they get brownie points and I let the guerilla marketing slide in that instance.
The recruitment company is looking for people. This site has people who need work. Where is the issue?
You complain about the moderation, you complain about Johns joke threads (which the rest of us love but he's not posted one since your comment), your responses are in general unfreindly and I find them quite condescending... Have you thought about AWeb? Seems like its more geared towards your expectations.

I'm Adrian I trained as an Accountant but now work in recruitment, looking forward to chatting with everyone.

Hi Adrian,
welcome to the forum. Plenty of the people here are accountants in one shape or another although the sites all pretty quiet at the moment. Sounds as though you've gone from the frying pan into the fire with your career direction although I don't blame you. The way that the beaurocracy has increased exponentially where we are supposed to enact and police every crazy change intended to extract that little bit more tax revenue faster there is no way I personally would go back into financial accountancy now.
Good luck in the new role and look forwards to chatting on here when opportunity permits.
all the best,
Shaun.
