VAT exempt invoices

Hi there

my supplier refuses to send me an VAT invoice for exempt service. Do I need a proper VAT invoice for exempt transaction or it can be recorded as exempt without a invoice being provided by supplier.

Hope it makes sense.

Regards

How does the supplier expect to be paid if they do not issue an Invoice?

It does not matter then, no VAT charged as it is exempt and no VAT paid for you too claim

A VAT exempt invoice is an invoice issued for goods or services that are not subject to VAT, such as certain medical products or education services. These invoices must clearly state that the transaction is exempt from VAT and cannot include any VAT charges or input tax credits.
