Hi all, Ive recently had my first child, and was made redundant from my last role meaning I need to have a career rethink. Ideally Im looking to work a couple of days a week and wondering if I could make it as a self ployed bookkeeper, also if anyone has advice for how you would go about getting clients.
Im AAT level 3 qualified and AATQB, so I just need to apply for the licence. Ive worked in various accounting roles in both big and small companies (Accounts payable, receivable, credit control, tax and payroll) for 15 years with my most recent roel being management accountant in a large company. Im based right on the London/Essex border and I dont know if that will make it easier or harder for me to get clients with London on my doorstep. Would be good to just get a bit of advice. You can have all my clients, what a miserable, dis-organised, moany, tight fisted bunch of B*st**ds they are. Getting them to supply correct information or paperwork is a joke. You cannot mention AAT unless you have a licence.Costs will eat any profit you make doing 2 days a week. Dont bother.
