Beginner Book Keeping Advice Please

Hi everyone,

I am about to start studying my L2 book keeping course (AAT) and will progress to L3 providing I'm not completely rubbish at it.

I was wondering a couple of things before I get started and I don't know any book keepers I can ask. I imagine some of this will be covered in the courses but I'm not entirely sure.

What equipment would you say is essential to work from home as a self-employed book keeper? I have a laptop.

Is there any essential software I should be prepared to purchase?

How should I go about finding clients once I am qualified? I know a couple of people that may be interested in having a book keeper, but it would be good to know if there are websites etc that I could advertise my services or what the done thing is, if there is!

I'd really appreciate any advice from experienced book keepers.

Thanks,

Amy
