Carrying foward capital gains losses.

I sold a number of properties between 2005 & 2008, some made a gain others a loss. For a number of reasons I have made no tax returns since 2007 but am now bringing my tax affairs up to date. Can I offset the losses agianst the gains or is there time limit, i.e. the date they where sold. Thanks.
